Do’s and Don’ts of hair care?

Hey there,

Julia from tryBELLO here...

Let's be real for a second—there's nothing more frustrating than watching your hair lose its volume, shed like crazy, or just refuse to cooperate.

You wash it, style it, pray to the hair gods… and still, it feels like your strands have a mind of their own.

But here's the thing—healthy, thriving hair isn't just about using the "right" shampoo or switching to silk pillowcases (although, yes, that helps!).

It's about building smart, consistent habits that keep your scalp happy and your hair strong.

Here are my top five do's and don'ts when starting your hair care journey!

1. Treat Your Scalp Like Royalty 👑

Your hair can't thrive if your scalp is out of whack...

Think of it like soil for a plant—if it's dry, clogged, or inflamed, nothing is growing properly!

Keep it clean, but don't overdo it!

Washing too often can strip your scalp's natural oils, but skipping washes for too long can lead to buildup...

Aim for every a shampoo sesh every 3-4 days

Scalp massages = hair growth gold!

Use a few drops of oil or a lightweight treatment (like the Hair Helper Spray 😉)

and give yourself a quick daily massage.

This increases circulation, bringing essential nutrients to your follicles.

Trust me, this works WONDERS for growth!

2. Eat Your Way to Better Hair 🥑🍳

Your hair is literally made of what you eat, so if you're skimping on essential nutrients, your strands will show it...

Protein is your best friend – Hair is made of keratin (a protein), so load up on eggs, lean meats, nuts, and legumes...

Boost your vitamin game – Iron, zinc, and B vitamins are key for hair strength.

Drink your water! Dehydration = brittle, dry hair. Simple as that.

3. Ditch the Heat (or Use It Wisely!) 🔥

We love a good blowout, but let's be real daily heat styling is not your hair's BFF.

If you must use heat, protect those strands!

A heat protector is non-negotiable.

Air dry AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE Let your hair breathe and embrace its natural texture.

And, if you HAVE to blow-dry, opt for medium heat instead of maxing it out.

4. Say Goodbye to Harsh Chemicals

If your shampoo still has sulfates, parabens, and silicones… we need to talk.

These ingredients strip your scalp dry, cause buildup, and can even contribute to thinning!

Instead, look for shampoos packed with natural, scalp-loving ingredients.

And, if you get your hair chemically treated, make sure you're following up with a deep hydrating mask to replenish the moisture!

5. Consistency is Key 🔑

Hair doesn't grow overnight...

The truth? You have to be consistent.

Stick to a routine! Whether it's washing 2-3 times a week, using your Hair Helper Spray daily, or taking your supplements every morning...

habits = results.

Patience, patience, patience – The average hair grows about ½ inch per month.

Stay the course, and your hair will thank you for it!

And that's all folks!

These are my tried-and-true do's and don'ts of hair care!

If you're ready to finally give your scalp and strands the love they deserve...

Start making these best practices a part of your daily routine!

And if you need a little extra help?

Our tryBELLO collection is packed with everything your hair needs to grow, thrive, and look fabulous.

Stay Gorgeous,

Julia
