❌ Virginia Dems' redistricting bet collapses in court. The Virginia Supreme Court struck down Democratic-drawn congressional maps in a 4–3 ruling, forcing a redraw. Republicans had urged an earlier legal review before votes were cast, but Democrats pressed ahead anyway. Justice D. Arthur Kelsey wrote that the Democrat-led legislature put the mid-decade redistricting referendum on the ballot “in an unprecedented manner,” violating required procedures. |
