There's so much I could write to you about today, but:
Today in the Woods household we are celebrating a birthday: Regina, the first born of the Woods children, turns 23 (I almost refuse to believe it).
There's a lot of grim news out there, and I have no choice but to share a lot of it, but today is different.
Here we are last year just before our private tour of Westminster Abbey:
Regina at left and her sister Veronica at right, we're seeing Men at Work (which was really Colin Hay and a band, but that's okay):
Here we are on one of our trips to New York, in the room where the UN Security Council meets. We were not supposed to be in this room. Thankfully, ol' Woods knows people.
Regina got me this photo book for Christmas. I snapped a picture of it and sent it to Dave Smith, with a note: your little girl will get you something like this someday.
The old man is entitled to one sentimental email per year. But I think it will also lift your spirits, dear reader. If you're wondering why I haven't spent the time telling you about her wonderful qualities, etc., that's because they all come out naturally, without my needing to point them out, in the print (not audio) interview I did with Regina.
I hope reading it will make you feel better about the future:
P.S. As I mentioned yesterday, in case I have any subscribers here who are interested: on my mailing list for entrepreneurs we talk a lot about recurring-revenue models -- subscriptions, memberships, etc. -- because they give you the most financial stability, unlike models based on one-off sales. At the same time, I get that not everyone wants to offer a subscription or an online membership, or build audiences and email lists, or do affiliate marketing, etc.
So for that fraction of folks, we've been discussing a recurring-revenue model that works at least as well and that doesn't involve any of those things.
It's in the top three things I've ever recommended to them, so if you're curious here's the replay, but unfortunately today is the last day to catch it: https://www.tomwoods.com/recording
(It's actually not that long; it looks long because people were so intrigued that the Q&A went much longer than the presentation itself.)
