Dear Friend of Life,
Today, we are asking you to stand with a courageous young woman who simply wanted to share a life-affirming message at her public high school. Now, she's asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear her case.
As a freshman at Noblesville High School, E.D. (full name protected) worked hard to start a Students for Life of America club. She secured a faculty advisor, followed the school's procedures, and received official recognition.
But when E.D. attempted to post flyers announcing the first club meeting—flyers that included an image of students holding signs reading "Defund Planned Parenthood"—school officials denied permission. They labeled her message too "political." Soon after, the school derecognized the club. | | E.D. wasn't disruptive. She wasn't disrespectful. She wasn't breaking the rules. She was expressing a viewpoint—one shared by millions of Americans—that human life is precious.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit upheld the school's censorship of E.D. in a ruling that gives school officials sweeping authority to silence student speech whenever it might be mistakenly attributed to the school. This threatens the free speech rights of students nationwide.
Alliance Defending Freedom is asking the United States Supreme Court to take this case and restore student free speech protections. | | Noblesville High School deemed these fliers for a student pro-life group to be too "political." | Students do not lose their constitutional rights when they walk into a school building. If school officials can silence one student's peaceful pro-life message today, what message will they silence tomorrow?
E.D. showed courage in standing up for her beliefs. Now it's our turn to stand with her.
By signing this statement of support, you are sending a clear message:
- Students have the right to express their beliefs.
- Schools must treat all viewpoints equally.
- The First Amendment protects every student—including those who speak for life.
Please add your name today to support E.D. and defend free speech for students across America. | | Sign your name. Share her story. Stand for life. Stand for free speech.
Sincerely, Mathew Hoffmann Legal Counsel Alliance Defending Freedom
