Dear Friends,
A few days ago, one of our team members in Iraq sent us a video from his phone. A drone had just crashed in his neighborhood.
He wasn't watching the news. He was living it.
When U.S. and Israeli strikes hit Iran, the entire region erupted. Missiles over Jordan. Bombings across Lebanon. Airports shut down overnight. And while the world watched from a distance, our teams were there on the ground, where they have been serving persecuted Christians for years.
They didn't evacuate. They started evacuating others.
My name is Joshua Youssef, and I lead an organization called Help The Persecuted. Our team, most of them persecuted Christians themselves, are on the ground in the most dangerous places in the world to profess faith in Jesus, including Iran. They have built networks of safe houses, shepherd underground churches, and provide immediate emergency relief — total wrap-around care for persecuted Christians who have lost everything.
Above: An explosion in the Middle East from a retaliatory Iranian missile.
Here's what's happening on the ground right now:
In Iran, the supreme leader died in the strikes. Iranians poured into the streets...to celebrate. After 47 years of brutal tyranny, they saw a flicker of hope. But the crackdown came fast. Internet cut. The regime shot anyone found celebrating. Our in-country team members are providing emergency relief and continuing to serve through their underground house churches.
In Lebanon, a Christian mother and her small children were trapped as bombs shook their neighborhood. Her husband, a soldier, had been called away. She had no one. Our team got her family into a safe house just in time.
In Jordan, missiles flew overhead, and interceptor debris rained down on civilian areas. Christian refugees fled with nothing. They have no tribal protections, no family networks to fall back on. Our team leader called them "the minorities of the minorities." We are providing them emergency relief, safe shelter, and tangible hope in the name of Jesus.
This is the kind of work we've been doing for years — rescuing, restoring, and rebuilding the lives of persecuted Christians in some of the most dangerous places on earth. And there are so many more who need our help.
Your gift today will keep safe houses open, get emergency supplies to displaced families, and sustain the underground church across the Middle East during one of the most dangerous moments in a generation.
