Hi ,
Were you able to attend yesterday’s CoachingCast? I hope so!
(But if not, don’t worry. Stay tuned…)
We called this CoachingCast How Sound Heals the Body, Mind & Spirit, and it was special for a number of reasons.
First, the topic - sound healing - is one that’s near and dear to my heart, both personally and professionally.
As you might know, sound is a passion of mine. Music, rhythm, and how sound can positively affect the brain and body. I’ve been a student of sound for over 30 years and am constantly stunned by what it can do to help us grow, heal, and thrive.
And second, this CoachingCast was also special because we had a guest! NY Times bestselling author Marci Shimoff joined us and shared her own experiences and insights about the power of sound and music for healing.
Marci wrote several bestsellers, including Happy For No Reason and several of the stories included in Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul. Plus she hosts an incredible year long program called Your Year of Miracles.
Marci’s work focuses on the idea of living in the Miracles Zone, a place where opportunities for miracles abound. And as she shared during the CoachingCast on Wednesday, she firmly believes that sound is a portal into that Miracles Zone. And I couldn’t agree more.
We really had a lot of fun talking about sound healing! And near the end of the video, we revealed a special way you can start incorporating sound healing into your own practice.
Because the reality is, we live in a noisy world, don’t we? Constant pings and dings, and talking heads. Not to mention the ever-present noise pollution of modern times. Research suggests that an overabundance of noise is an irritant to our very cells! It takes a toll on our peace of mind and even our physical health.
Sound healing seeks to counteract those negative noisy effects with sounds that heal, soothe, and uplift.
So if you missed this one-of-a-kind CoachingCast, don’t worry. I've got JCI readers like you an early replay.
Watch the replay!
And before I go… what kinds of sounds do you find healing and helpful? Do you have a favorite song or musician? As a music fan myself, I’m really curious to know, so drop me a quick note with your feedback!
Until next time, this is me, Just Checking In!
