A North Carolina company just recalled about 168,000 pounds of pork, beef, and goat it sold under a fake federal inspection number. That USDA mark is supposed to mean an inspector checked the plant and the animals first. Star Meat Delivery used a made-up number, so the check never happened, and the meat still shipped through a Georgia distributor into stores and restaurants nationwide. No one can say whether it's safe, because no one official ever looked. It's a Class I recall, the most serious kind. The dairy industry built decades of milk ads on it, and doctors have handed the pills out for years. Well, a new study suggests otherwise. Researchers pooled 69 trials covering more than 150,000 older adults and found the pills, taken alone or together, did little to nothing to prevent broken bones or falls. A new report claims a Gates-backed foundation is tied to a plan to cut meat eating in young men. Here's what we found. The Gates Foundation helps fund a group called the School for Moral Ambition. That group placed one of its fellows inside a food-advocacy outfit. The outfit runs a campaign called "Plants for the Win." The goal is to get men aged 16 to 24 to eat less meat. The method is fitness influencers, paid to make giving up meat look manly. A second fellow wrote a policy paper to push plant proteins into European school lunches and army kitchens. None of it was hidden. All of it was funded.         04  Half of America's kids can't get the new COVID shot yet. The FDA approved this year's COVID shot last month. Kids with private insurance can already get it. But there's a government program that gives free shots to about half of all US kids. It covers kids on Medicaid, uninsured kids, and Native American kids. The CDC hasn't released the new shot to that program yet. So those kids can't get it right now. The CDC hasn't said why. And it hasn't said when it will.
