A University of Florida team looked at the health records of tens of thousands of patients with early memory problems. The ones taking glucosamine were 25 percent more likely to slide into dementia. Among people who already had dementia, glucosamine users had a 25 percent higher risk of dying. In mice, the supplement added extra sugar tags to brain proteins and made memory worse. It's a link, not proof. But if you take it for your knees, it's worth asking about your brain.         02  That "fresh clean" smell is polluting your air. Purdue researchers found that scented household cleaners release over a billion tiny particles into the air with a single use. The fragrance in these sprays and wipes reacts with ozone, a common indoor air pollutant, and creates particles small enough to slip past your nose and settle deep in your lungs. It creates more small airborne particles than you would normally find near a busy highway. Products labeled "natural" or made with essential oils were no better. Learn More         03  Kids on weight-loss shots are coming up short on vitamins. Another bad report for GLP-1s, and this one is about our kids. As if it's not bad enough that kids are on these drugs at all, here's what the latest study shows. Researchers at Lurie Children's Hospital tracked 2,031 kids ages 10 to 17 on GLP-1 drugs, the family of weight-loss shots that includes Ozempic. Within a year, 1 in 6 were diagnosed with a nutrient deficiency, most often vitamin D, which growing kids need for strong bones. The drugs work by shutting down appetite, so kids eat less of everything, including the vitamins their bodies need. Only 5 percent got any advice on what to eat in the first month. Losing weight is not the same as getting healthy, especially in kids.         04  RFK wants better reporting on vaccine side effects. Right now, very few vaccine side effects ever get reported. A 2010 government-funded Harvard Pilgrim study estimated that fewer than 1 percent make it into VAERS, the federal system for tracking reactions after shots. RFK Jr. plans to fix that by paying doctors for the time it takes to file a report. The idea is simple: if doctors get paid to report, more side effects get counted, and we finally see how safe each vaccine really is.
